Saturday afternoon, 1st August: Popular, well-respected Medieval scholar and presenter Imogen Corrigan will offer an illustrated talk in church on The Bayeux Tapestry. This will be very helpful for anyone planning to see the exhibition being held at the British Museum between this September and July 2027. Tickets including refreshments £10 in advance, or £12 “on the door”, spacing allowing.
Prepare to enjoy seeing the church full of exquisitely observed paintings by Gorleston artist, John S. Applegate. Over the weekend of 12th and 13th September you will be able to see this amazing display, and perhaps be tempted to buy one! Look out for direction signs on the various roads leading to Hemblington. If you are coming from the Gt Yarmouth direction, the new flyover on the A47 near North Burlingham, leading to South Walsham, is now open!

Hemblington church eco-team news
A small team of people keen to encourage environmental awareness in the local community at Hemblington has worked hard over the last few years to reach good standards of sustainable living as advocated by the A Rocha foundation. The team has looked at the use of green energy in the church, reuse and recycling of materials and managing the churchyards for wildlife. A recent approach has been to show “The People’s Emergency Briefing film” at Heathlands in July.
The interest and enthusiasm of many of the people who attended this film was very encouraging. Suggestions were made which might help mitigate some of the climate change and food shortage predictions, supporting what the scientists and experts in the various fields felt might be possible.

Blofield & District Gardening Club
The Club does not meet in August; the next meeting will be on Wednesday evening, 9th September.
