Friends of All Saints Church, Hemblington

Saturday afternoon, 6th June at 2:00 pm: Free illustrated talk about Norwich Market.  Well-known local historians Frances and Michael Holmes will be outlining the long history of this local gem, and what changes are being planned now.  This will be followed by the Friends AGM.

Wednesday morning, 10th June: Norfolk Wildlife Trust Lucy Seely will conduct a free wildflower walk around the churchyard, helping us to identify the lovely wild flowers and trees growing so freely there.  This will be followed by an hour’s wildlife survey -all part of Great Big Green Week.  Please look out for posters.

Saturday afternoon, 1st August: Popular, well-respected Medieval scholar and presenter Imogen Corrigan will offer an illustrated talk on The Bayeux Tapestry.  This will be very helpful for anyone planning to see the exhibition being held at the British Museum between this September and July 2027.  Tickets including refreshments £10.

Weekend of 12th and 13th September:  “Coast & Country”  An exhibition of paintings by John S. Applegate. A second opportunity to enjoy the skill of this much admired local artist.

If you would like to learn more about these events, and what the Friends group has to offer, please contact the secretary on (01603) 715804 or see the church website: www.hemblingtonchurch.org.uk

Please also think about becoming a Friend of the church.  The group helps to keep the building watertight and in good condition plus supports the work in keeping the churchyard as a wildlife haven.  Whether you visit the churchyard to remember family or friends, enjoy the peacefulness of the church and churchyard, or are fascinated by the wall painting and other pre-Reformation architecture, we would welcome your support.  Please contact the secretary by email: hemblington@gmail.com / phone: (01603) 715804.  Membership is just £10 per year and would mean a lot to the whole team.
